Following Sunday’s home invasion incident on Rosewood Avenue, the Winnetka Police Department is working diligently to investigate, collaborating with other local and regional law enforcement agencies.

Residents in the area are encouraged to check security camera footage from Sunday afternoon to determine if you have footage of the suspects, who were in a black Acura RDX SUV. The timeframe to pay special attention to is Sunday, March 8, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. We have reason to believe the vehicle and suspects described may have been present (either driving or parked) on neighboring side streets during this period of time. This is an active investigation, and we are pursuing many investigative leads, using the best technology available, and tirelessly working on trying to identify the individuals responsible so that they can be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are also being assisted by several law enforcement partners in our work on this case.

I would like to emphasize that incidents like these present a very real danger: these offenders are often immediately willing to escalate criminal acts to violent crimes, frequently with the use of a weapon. We have seen this not only in our community but in other neighboring communities where similar incidents have occurred. It is critical that community members immediately report suspicious activity or vehicles to the police by calling 911.
