Licensing
The Village of Winnetka does not maintain a contractor licensing program; rather the Village accepts licenses issued by the State of Illinois (i.e., plumbing, irrigation and roofing contractors) or licenses issued by other municipalities which test licensees (electricians).
Electrical, plumbing, irrigation, roofing, and fire suppression contractors must have on file, or supply prior to permit issuance, a copy of current licenses.
Contractor Bonds
Prior to the issuance of any permit, the General Contractor and any sub-contractor performing work in the Village Right-of-Way must file a License and Permit Bond with the Department of Community Development in the amount of $25,000.
